The pandemic brought many limitations to Super Bowl LV fans, leaving millions to wonder how the 2020 game would hold up to prior seasons. We needed to show how the power of Verizon 5G could bring the ultimate Super Bowl experience to the masses in a year without all the in-person magic of the Big Game. We needed to turn the restrictions caused by the pandemic into an opportunity to demonstrate the unifying power of Verizon 5G.
We worked with elite Fortnite builders to bring the Verizon Fortnite Stadium to life. For the week leading up to Super Bowl LV, we partnered with entertainment, NFL, and gaming influencers to create two primetime livestreams on Twitch, with simulcasting across Verizon’s social channels. We created live interactions between fans and NFL players through avatar meet-and-greets. And America’s biggest gamers connected with 40 million fans in the stadium.
