SEO Analyst
Introduction to R/GA & the role
Support the client acquisition & marketing strategy with SEO & organic search expertise. We want to help evolve the Australian B2C market of a global automotive company to adapt to changing consumer behaviours beyond 2025. Search is a core channel the client depends on, so we’re looking for somebody who can build relationships across disciplines using their knowledge of SEO, amplify marketing efforts, and be a trusted advisor on organic traffic & customer behaviour.
Provide insights, guide strategy through monthly digital reporting to clients. Explain search-based strategies to non-SEOs by relating insights to their craft.
- Collaborating across designers (UX, visual) as well as copywriters to craft winning content & conversions.
- Collaborating with data analysts, front-and-back-end developers to optimise the site for searchability & UX performance
- Improving SEO buy-in and understanding with producers, business analysts, client services, product owners and managers
- Ability to adjust SEO-specific language to stakeholders of varying SEO knowledge, tying SEO requirements to bigger business objectives.
On any given day you might
- Assessing the ways SEO can support or lead projects (product launches, PR campaigns, improving customer experience) to shift KPIs
- Monitoring the client’s site health, identifying opportunities for organic growth
- Build relationships and work with product managers, client services, & design teams to identify initiatives that will have a positive impact on organic traffic & conversions
- Investigating B2C customer needs relying primarily on organic search intent, using a whole spectrum of tools, from user and market research to data analytics, to create an informed understanding of the customer, their contexts and their cultures.
- Assessing the competitive landscape while understanding patterns and trends
- Producing keyword research, mapping, content gaps, client-friendly presentations that have well-visualised data from search.
- Using technical, content & authority insights to identify opportunities for client to improve KPIs

- Can communicate insights and significance from raw search data, in both technical & business language
- Can analyse complex technical SEO data, derive insights and translate it into business and design language.
- Thinks & communicates beyond traditional SEO jargon by expressing SEO insights through the lens of customer behaviour
- Is deeply curious and always compelled to get to the ‘why’ by challenging status quo
- Is a proactive and resourceful problem solver
- Is comfortable working autonomously, prioritising and managing time with some guidance
You bring these proven experiences from previous roles
Must have:
- Relevant experience in an SEO analyst role in explaining the project and business significance of insights from raw search data
- Superior communication skills; in presenting & explaining complicated topics from search data
- An impeccable attention to detail in data analysis, written communication, and task management
- Enthusiastic, solution-focused attitude, with a passion to find the best outcome for all projects
- Demonstrates productivity & initiative and being adaptable
- Demonstrable experience in owning the SEO reporting of websites
- Experience analysing data with at least 3 of the following: SEMrush, Brightedge, MOZ, MOZ-STAT, Screaming Frog, ahrefs, Google Search Console
- Experience analysing data with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics, Google Looker Studio
- A high proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g. Google Sheets) and presentation slide deck crafting (e.g. Google slides or equivalent)
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, working with multiple clients and departments under tight-deadlines
- Work collaboratively with other analysts and departments
Should have:
- Experience collaborating across non-SEO disciplines
- A working understanding of basic user / customer experience principles
- Experience of assessing & making recommendations based on technical SEO fundamentals
- User psychology & searcher-intent-first SEO approach & experience
- Demonstrable experience in influencing business outcomes that are not based on vanity metrics like rankings
- Understanding & experience of technical, content & authority SEO levers
