Since opening our doors in May 2017, R/GA Tokyo has been building the foundation for a long-term future in the Japanese market. The Tokyo office consists of 30+ multicultural and multidisciplinary staff members,  a structure that is unique to the market, serving both international and local clients, and connecting brands with the Japanese and global audiences.

On any given day you might

  • Find creative solution with understanding of the brand strategy and digital landscape.
  • Identify strategic opportunities and develop creative concept.
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop excellent work from ideation to production.
  • Ensure the quality of copy work produced is in line with agency and client expectations.
  • Create various products including traditional film content, print ad and digital experience in consistent quality.


Our ideal person:

  • Portfolio demonstrating conceptual skills that result in innovative and inspiring creative ideas.
  • Excellent creative writing ability and a strong knack for communication strategy.
  • Ability to develop and craft brand voice (conceptualisation and ideation).
  • Collaborative work ethic and easy going nature.
  • Capable to confidently present concepts and thinking to clients.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English languages (i.e. bilingual in business/workplace conversations).
  • Candidates who are junior/mid to senior copywriters may also be considered for suitable roles if not at ACD level.
