R/GA’s is seeking an Associate Director of Finance to support our growing global media and client finance function. In this role, you will support the Global CFO of R/GA in a dual role of overseeing a team of client finance analysts in our Buenos Aires office and lead our Media Finance function, working with Media executives in the US to establish our media financial processes to support the rapid growth of our Media and Connections solutions. You will oversee a team of 6-8 analysts in both client finance and media finance. You and your team will be supporting clients across the Americas, as well as Europe. (This role is based in Buenos Aires.)

           

On any given day you might

 

  • Media Finance Leadership:
    • Partner with media executives and financial leaders to assess and improve our media financial operations to support the rapidly expanding media clients
    • Responsible for Media Client finance workflow, including budget management, billing, reporting, and accounts receivable management
  • Client Finance: Oversee Client Finance Team in our Buenos Aires BPO, overseeing the client finance workflow, including budget management, billing, reporting, and accounts receivable management
  • Plan and coordinate client finance deliverables across business units to ensure timeliness and quality
  • Interface and troubleshoot with the IPG shared service center to process invoices and other workflows (IPG is R/GA’s parent company)
  • Communicate effectively and responsibly within the agency network, primarily across US and Europe
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with internal clients across media, finance, and account executives.
  • Oversee financial reporting for a range of client deliverables including monthly accrual reporting an vendor management
  • Must be familiar with all system-generated media billing reports and be able to troubleshoot issues
  • Provide reporting of client activity internally to Finance Leadership for forecasting and reconciliation purposes 
  • Liaise between various departments as part of the billing process (planning teams, activation teams, shared services teams)
  • Participate in related interdepartmental projects and agency meetings 

 

The ideal person

 

  • Previous media agency experience, working in a billing or finance function
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across multiple stakeholders and office locations, including finance leadership, media leadership, local BPO leadership, account leadership and IPG shared services executives
  • Self motivated and proactive; can identify areas of opportunity and propose solutions
  • Strong financial acumen and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of media buying and billing (traditional and digital channels) and vendor

reconciliation workflows

  • Enthusiastic, problem-solving, collaborative and service oriented attitude
  • Experience directly managing others and leading teams
  • Experience communicating with senior level clients and executives in Americas and Europe
  • Ability to effectively communicate and simplify complex topics to broad audiences

 

You bring

  • 7 + years of finance experience, with client finance and media specific experience
  • 3 + years of working experience at a media agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance or accounting
  • Track record of proactive finance business partnering and leadership, working closely with senior executives on financial management and strategy
  • Ability to quickly learn multiple software applications
  • Best in class Excel, PowerPoint, Google sheets, and Google slides
  • Executive-friendly communication and strong storytelling skills
  • Some experience with MediaOcean and SAP platforms required
